Postais para outra história da arte / 2018-2020

 

Esta série surgiu a partir de uma investigação teórica sobre a mulher lésbica na história da arte e a percepção de sua invisibilidade e da relativa ausência de fontes no tocante à autorreferencialidade. Para criar tensões em relação a uma narrativa que foi construída majoritariamente por visões masculinas, aproprio-me de pinturas feitas por homens, onde aparecem mulheres se relacionando, e sobreponho fotografias, também apropriadas, de casais de mulheres. Como mulher lésbica apresentando este trabalho, procuro chamar a atenção para o assunto e propor novas formas de narrar uma história que, por muito tempo, marginalizou as mulheres e as relações lésbicas.

Postcards for another art history / 2018-2020

 

This series emerged from a theoretical investigation of lesbian women in art history and the perception of their invisibility and the relative absence of sources regard self-referentiality. To create tensions in a narrative that was built mostly by male visions, I make an appropriation of paintings made by men, where women appear in relationships, and I make a collage with photographs showing couples of women - and also appropriated. As a lesbian woman presenting this work, I try to draw attention to the subject and propose new ways of telling a story that marginalized women and lesbian relationships for a long time.
